Digital Potential Beyond Boundaries
LLDC3 Connectivity Track
Unlocking meaningful internet connectivity in landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) is the key to breaking traditional barriers to
global trade, boosting digital economies, and improving public services like education and health. By shifting commerce online and
using advanced ICT tools in logistics and transportation, LLDCs can streamline operations, cut costs, and access new markets—all
without the need for physical infrastructure. Yet, as of 2023, only 39% of people in LLDCs are online, with affordability and access
disparities persisting, especially in African regions.
